Saint-Tropez in summer, St Barts in winter. Every December, the same crowd that fills our boutique at the Hôtel Byblos crosses the Atlantic to St Barths, and this season Laly follows them to the island, with hand delivery and private fittings at your hotel, villa or yacht. Here are the best hotels in St Barts for 2026–27: our favourite first, then ranked by a combination of guest ratings, number of reviews and the major awards (Forbes Travel Guide, the Michelin Guide's Keys and Travel + Leisure's World's Best).
St Barts has only around 25 hotels, many of them small and all of them in demand from mid-December to April. If you are deciding between a hotel and a villa, read our guide to the best villa rentals in St Barts too.

Our favourite hotel on the island.
On the calm turquoise lagoon of Grand Cul-de-Sac, Le Barthélemy is the most relaxed of the island's great hotels: 44 rooms and suites that open onto the sand, an infinity pool over the beach, and the only Augustinus Bader spa in the Caribbean. Dine at Abyss (seafood on the beach, Sunday brunch) or Amis St. Barth, end the evening with caviar and astrology-themed cocktails at the Seven Stars Bar.
Voted #3 resort in the Caribbean in Travel + Leisure's World's Best 2026, with two Michelin Keys and a Forbes Four-Star rating. Families love the connecting rooms and the beachfront villas Aqua & Bleu; the lagoon is perfect for paddle, kitesurf and children.

The legend on the rock.
Perched on its rocky promontory in the middle of Saint-Jean bay since the 1950s, Eden Rock is the most famous address in St Barts: 37 rooms, suites and villas, from the Captain's Rooms to signature suites such as Pippa, with its pool carved into the rock. Lunch at the Sand Bar, with menus by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, is an island ritual; evenings end at Rémy Bar.
Part of the Oetker Collection and rated Five-Star by Forbes Travel Guide. Saint-Jean's beach, shops and the airport are a few minutes' walk away.

The island's only Palace.
LVMH's maison on Flamands, the island's widest beach, is the only hotel in St Barts with three Michelin Keys and the French Palace distinction, and it is rated Five-Star by Forbes. Tropical gardens, rooms and bungalows with private pools, the five-bedroom Villa de France, and a Guerlain spa exclusive to the island.
New this season: Langosteria, the Milanese seafood house, opened its first restaurant outside Europe here in late October 2026; lunch is at La Cabane, on the sand.

Gustavia at your feet.
The former Le Carl Gustaf, reborn as Fouquet's Saint-Barth: around twenty suites, each with its own plunge pool overlooking Gustavia harbour, plus the five-bedroom Villa Diane. Dinner at Beefbar on the panoramic terrace, a Biologique Recherche spa, and the boutiques of Gustavia a short walk away. Travel + Leisure readers voted it the #1 resort in the Caribbean in 2026.
There is no beach on site, but Shell Beach is about five minutes on foot, and the hotel's new beach restaurant, Loulou, opens there in November 2026.

The sunset hotel.
On the wild headland of Pointe Milou, Christopher has one of the island's great infinity pools, facing the sunset over the ocean. 42 rooms and suites plus four private villas, a Sisley spa, and Solis, the restaurant of chef Paul Bertheau, with sunset sessions, live music and an outdoor cinema club. One Michelin Key.
There is no beach, but the calm and the light make it one of the best-value luxury stays in St Barts.

The island's largest hotel, reborn.
The former Rosewood Le Guanahani becomes Airelles' first maison outside Europe: 66 Creole-style rooms and suites on a private 7-hectare peninsula between the Grand Cul-de-Sac lagoon and Marigot Bay, two beaches, La Table du Guanahani, Le Pélican bar and a kids' club. It held two Michelin Keys under its previous name.
Le Sereno (Grand Cul-de-Sac, reopens 16 November 2026): 39 Christian Liaigre-designed suites on the lagoon, Italian dining at Al Mare, a Valmont spa. Hôtel Le Toiny (Relais & Châteaux): 22 villa-suites each with a heated private pool on the wild east coast. Hôtel Manapany (Anse des Cayes): 43 rooms and villas facing the ocean, one Michelin Key.
Hotel or villa in St Barts?
Hotels give you service, restaurants and a beach without organising anything; villas give you space and privacy, and the best agencies now add hotel-style concierge, chefs and even hotel perks. For couples and short stays, a hotel; for families and groups over Christmas and New Year, a villa. Either way, book early: over the holidays most hotels and villas ask for 10 to 14 nights.

December to April is the dry, sunny high season. Christmas and New Year are the most glamorous and the most expensive weeks; early December, January and late April are calmer.
Is it St Barts, St Barths or Saint-Barth?
All three: St Barts is the usual American spelling, St Barths the European one, and Saint-Barth (short for Saint-Barthélemy) is what the French and the islanders say.
