In St Barts, dinner is the event of the day: a long table on Gustavia harbour, a garden lit by lanterns, lobster with your feet in the sand. Here are the best restaurants in St Barts for the 2026–27 season, with their signature dishes, hours and how to book: our favourite first, then ranked by a combination of guest ratings, number of reviews and reputation.
Most restaurants are open for dinner only, from around 6:30–7pm, and the best tables are booked days ahead from Christmas to mid-January. For lunch on the sand, see the beach clubs at the end, and for this season's arrivals, our guide to the new restaurants in St Barts.

Our favourite night out.
The Saint-Tropez spirit on the quay of Gustavia: French-Mediterranean cooking (a signature menu by Rocco Seminara and Jordan Gressiez), long shared tables, DJs, performances and champagne until late, overlooking the superyachts. The table to book for a birthday, a first night on the island or New Year's week.

Dinner under the tamarind tree.
A "jungle chic" tropical garden on the road to Saline beach, under a century-old tamarind tree, lit by lanterns and candles. Chef Jérôme Lebeau's French cooking with Caribbean and Mediterranean notes: local fish tiradito, scallop carpaccio, grilled lobster, veal chop in a morel crust. Start with the Garden Hour aperitif and a Tamarini cocktail; backgammon and cigars after dinner.

Ceviche and a view of the harbour.
Chef-owner Laurent Cantineaux (trained at Troisgros and with Daniel Boulud) serves French Pan-American cooking in a beach-house setting above Gustavia harbour: the famous truffle ceviche, tiraditos and anticuchos from the ceviche bar, then Chilean sea bass or lomo saltado, with a resident DJ every night.

The romantic Italian.
In a large Creole house in Gustavia, L'Isola has served refined Italian cooking since 2008, with produce imported from Italy and pasta made in-house: fresh taglioni and ravioli, wild sea bass from the oven, truffle shaved at the table.
L'Esprit
The gourmets' table.
Jean-Claude Dufour, for fifteen years the head chef of Eden Rock, and his wife Sonia run the island's most serious kitchen in an open-roofed tropical garden near Saline: market-driven French cooking with Caribbean touches and an exceptional wine list. A flagship of the St Barth Gourmet Festival every November.

Thai under the stars.
Thai chefs from Bangkok, a red-and-black dining room, a courtyard open to the sky and a rooftop: the island's favourite Asian table, with vegan and gluten-free options and a takeaway counter, Black Ginger To Go, for villa nights.

The local institution.
A family-run garden of century-old trees hidden in the lanes of Gustavia, serving French and Creole cooking since 1995: green mango salad with crispy prawns, goat curry massalé, beef tenderloin with morels, chocolate lava cake. The island's most loyal regulars, at gentle prices.

The classic St Barts lunch.
Jean-Georges Vongerichten's beachfront restaurant at Eden Rock: truffle pizza, crispy salmon, local seafood and caviar, a DJ and the planes gliding in over the hill. Lunch is the moment; dinner is quieter and more refined.
La Langouste
Lobster with your feet in the sand.
The beach restaurant of the family-run Hôtel Baie des Anges, on Flamands since 1984: live Caribbean spiny lobster from the tank, grilled and served with three house sauces, sole meunière and raw fish. Simple, unpretentious and much loved. Call ahead to check this season's opening days.
Le Papillon Ivre
The wine lovers' address.
Founded in 2017 by Julie Campion, a bistro and wine bar with more than 450 French wines, over 100 of them by the glass, a hidden terrace and a "wine library": revisited French classics, charcuterie and aged cheeses to share.

The island's original beach party, celebrating its 25th season in 2026–27 (open from 23 October 2026 to mid-August 2027): white daybeds, champagne lunches and the famous New Year's Day party. Beach 10:30am–7pm.
Gyp Sea Beach Club (Saint-Jean, by the Pelican side of the bay): tropical fusion, a coconut bar and DJs all day, 10:30am–6:30pm. Pearl Beach (Saint-Jean): a lobster menu on the sand, open all year, dinner Friday to Sunday. New this season: Loulou on Shell Beach and the beach club of Airelles Le Guanahani. In Gustavia, La Guérite has moved to its beach outpost in Saint-Jean.
What to wear to dinner in St Barts
Chic but barefoot-friendly: a fringed mini for Bagatelle, a silk gown for the harbour, a flowing midi for a garden dinner at Le Tamarin. Sandals rather than stilettos: many terraces are wooden decks or sand. Our full St Barts dress code guide.
